CENTERING PRAYER
Centering Prayer
Where our prayer life can often be described as us talking to God, Centering Prayer is a practice that fosters interior silence so that we may listen to God. Over time, this way of praying can bring us closer to sensing God’s presence in us and in our lives.
The group meets weekday mornings from 7:30-8:00 via Zoom to start the day with a focus on God. We begin by listening to a reading from Psalms, followed by a period of silent Centering Prayer in order to withdraw our attention from our ordinary flow of thoughts and concerns about our daily lives and rest in a still place. We end the prayer time with a rereading of the day’s psalm.
Occasional and one-time participants are welcome! Please contact the church office if you are interested in joining.
